Festival International 2011

Hi, I am Marcus de la Houssaye, owner and operator of de la Houssaye's Swamp Tours, and we are having a wonderful weekend with friends and out of town guests at Lafayette's annual celebration of the francophone culture, and we have stiltwalkers

to entertain the young and old,

And they are mischevious,

playful,

and unpredictable!

And we have several marching bands!

How you like this horn section?

It will definitely get you dancing in the streets!

Jefferson Street, downtown Lafayette,

is the market place for French art and crafts worldwide,

and we have six stages set up for musical concerts all across the downtown area?

So why are we parading and celebrating?

It is the 25th anniversary of Festival International!

We are doing this with Steam Punk Stiltwalkers,

and burlesque women too!

Wow, isn't Lafayette the place to be this weekend, in My Wild Louisiana?

For the urban wild man or woman, certainly Lafayette fits the bill,

but, if you want wilderness, I am doing swamp tours at Lake Martin, about 6 miles from downtown Lafayette.

we are dog friendly,

but watch your pets around the waters edge anywhere around the boat landing!

I am Marcus de la Houssaye, and welcome to My Wild Louisiana!

Ohhh.... one more thing before we go back to the festivities,

I forgot to mention that next weekend is the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.

We are just getting started, and you have time to make plans and come get you some of our "Joie de Vie"!
