Nesting Season Is In Full Swing!
Black-bellied Whistling Ducks in the rookery in mid February?
In a few months we will be seeing night herons standing over their babies as seen below.
But for now, it looks like the whistling ducks are ahead of schedule.
The Black-bellied Whistling ducks are usually nesting at Lake Martin in April.
If you need to keep up with the where and when of nesting bird activities in south central Louisiana, I am planning to operate in several new rookeries this spring and may be able to offer information on locations and timeframes.
The 2 photos below are by Claude Nall
If you are planning birdwatching or photography of nesting birds,
call me at 337 298 2630 for consultation or reservations for a guided trip.

Christina's Locomotive Roll
Christina is an intern sushi chef at Tsunami
She chose to become a sushi chef for her senior project
she has already invented her own roll, the Locomotive Roll.
It's a steam punk thing, you'll have to ask her.
Sushi is very much like Cajun, in that it is flavorful, fun to eat, and very much open to creative expression and interpretation.
